Here we are. Two days away from Dragon-Con and I think I may have put a little too much on the plate. I think it probably mostly stems from our track being sponsored, at the last minute, by a book publisher. So that means that the nice , small party the track had planned, with iPod setlist, had to be changed to big fiasco in a bigger room and you have one month to put it together...go!

Needless to say, I spent the next two weeks scrambling to get bands that wanted to play for us. The first two I asked couldn't do it because they got denied as guests of dragon-con. So I had to comb through the bands that are playing Con and find suitable music. As an aside, there are alot of bands that play steam punk coming to Con. The only bands I could find were bands I hadn't heard play except one band that is there every year. Unfortunately, the band that I knew, read: have their music, is playing for another track that night. So the other two are playing for us! Plus one of the original bands I asked is being very gracious and paying for their own way in to play a 20 minute set for us as well! I managed to put together a rocking party in a month and give myself a few more grey hairs. Yay me!

Of Geeks and Dragons

For those of you who don't know, Dragon-Con is a Sci-Fi convention in Atlanta, Ga. on and around Labor day weekend (first weekend of September). This is a huge Geek gathering of around 30,000 people from around the world. I live in Atlanta so I volunteer for the Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Track. This year and every year I host a couple of the events. The events I'm in charge of are An Evening at the Winespring Inn on Friday night late (I will have a cash bar!!), The Swordform Demostration and Discussion Saturday afternoon and The Gleeman's Competition on Sunday evening.

Other than those times I'll be wandering around probably under the influence of alcohol having a good time.

I have a couple of links for you to find out more info.
